Abercamlais is the westerly of two mansion houses set in parkland to the north of the A40 between Sennybridge and Brecon, just within the northern boundary of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

It is a splendid Grade 1 listed building, originally dating from the Middle Ages, but altered extensively in the early 18th century, with additions in Victorian times.

It is set in extensive grounds, sheltered from the prevailing winds by mature beech and oak trees. Nearby, there is a dovecote serving as a bridge over the Camlais stream which flows into the river Usk.

For Open Doors, the house and gardens will be open to the public, with organised tours given by members of the family. Tours will be arranged every half hour, starting at noon, and the last tour will start at 2.30pm. The tours will last approximately 1.5 hours.

Address - Abercamlais House, Brecon, Powys, LD3 8EY.

Location - Abercamlais House is situated on the A40, 5 miles outside Brecon. There is a bus stop called Abercamlais Lodge at the top of the drive on the A40.
